Position Summary: The Financial Literacy Program Coordinator delivers financial education programming in the Omaha metro area by conducting group financial literacy workshops, community outreach, financial counseling, and leverages technology to engage various audiences on personal financial wellbeing. This professional elevates UBT's Financial Literacy program mission and vision by deepening engagement within the Omaha community through partnerships with nonprofits and educational organizations. This position requires strong knowledge of personal finance concepts, comfortability with public speaking, relationship skills, and the ability to make independent decisions and requires frequent travel to community organizations within the Omaha metro area. This role is eligible for hybrid work from home opportunity under the work from home guidelines up to one day per week upon completion of onboarding.

Essential Functions:



  • Deliver community-based financial education workshops on behalf of UBT's Financial Literacy Program on various personal finance topics including, but not limited to: budgeting, banking, building credit, managing debt, saving money, investing, managing risk, and financial goal-setting.
  • Ability to work directly with community members in an inclusive manner that introduces financial wellbeing through a culturally responsive lens.
  • Research financial topics and resources that are relevant to the needs of the community.
  • Identify opportunities for new initiatives and to strategically leverage technology to financially empower community members.
  • Review and assess financial literacy programs and materials including developing and updating content where needed.
  • Collect data for Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) reporting and program evaluation.
  • Handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Build relationships with community, internal partners, community nonprofit organizations and UBT staff with strong interpersonal skills while effectively meeting their needs.
  • Conduct educational workshops, meetings, classes, and training relating to various financial literacy topics such as but not limited to budgeting, debt consolidation, retirement planning, and other financial topics.
  • Assist in selecting, creating, revising, and adapting curriculum and educational materials to meet students' varying needs, abilities, and interests.
  • Prepare for scheduled classes including determining and adapting to the best practice for specific groups and show written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisors.
  • Use various forms of communication to work with groups of various sizes and ages.
  • Understand and adhere to all bank policies, laws, and regulations applicable to their role. Complete compliance training; follow internal processes and controls as required.
  • Report all compliance issues, violations of law or regulations in accordance with the steps defined in bank policies.
  • Performs other job-related duties or special projects as assigned.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.


Qualifications:



  • Teaching, education, instructional technology, financial aid, banking, social services or related experience required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, Social Work, Counseling, Finance or another related field preferred.
  • Previous experience with facilitating educational workshops.
  • In addition to English, fluency in Spanish a plus.
  • Knowledge of PowerPoint, Microsoft Office products, and Zoom.
  • Experience in and demonstrated ability to conduct small and large group presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to support a wide array of learners from youth to adults with varying beliefs, behaviors, orientations, and cultural backgrounds.
  • Understanding of motivational interviewing, positive psychology, and other coaching techniques to effectively build rapport and trust with community members


  • Valid Nebraska Driver's License.

Working Environment:
