Overview
Career Pathways Navigator Shift: Days, Full-time Location: Will be primarily remote with some travel throughout Iowa. The Career Pathways Navigator designs and delivers services, processes and programs that create career pathways to establish new candidate pipelines. To establish and maintain partnerships that establish these pipelines, this position collaborates with educational partners and market level teams to coordinate clinical rotations, assign and track participant activity within the organization, support recruitment strategies, and evaluate program effectiveness. This is accomplished by using principles of adult learning theory, human behavior, utilizing evidence-based practices, and clinical professional practice models as well as building solid and collaborative relationships with regional stakeholders and system counterparts. Responsibilities
Management of External Programs and Relationships
- Develop, implement, and manage pathways programs for high-demand healthcare roles, to include selection and application processes, assisting participants with career pathway goals and plans to achieve a desired
- Identify, implement, manage, and track participation of workforce development programs, partnering with local agencies, high schools, colleges, and programs where
- Propose, develop, and execute sustainable workforce development programs researching opportunities and assessing impact of programs, providing annual report to assigned leadership.
- Enhance community partnerships identifying workforce gaps and opportunities along with training programs and education. Identify ways to better serve our community and enrich our talent pool through active participation in groups, learning about the various population groups in our
- Collaborate with grant writing and grant management team to identify and process grant applications to assist in the funding of career development
- Identify potential grant programs to fund new or current career pathways work.
- Track current grants to ensure compliance, utilization of funds and reporting ensure grant is retained.
- Create and write grant reporting and applications as assigned.
- Coordinate development of programs and placement of pathways participants throughout the region by collaborating with the following groups: leaders, talent acquisition, clinical educators, academic partners, and any other team members that act as preceptors and/or mentors as appropriate.
- Maintain a current list of community and educational partners being leveraged for pathways programs at the market level.
- Monitor participant progress and compliance to the commitments within the career pathways program
- Partner with operational leaders to ensure pathway participants have a schedule, clinical rotation, or other plan to meet the educational goals of their time at UnityPoint.
- Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of programs and the participant experience.
- Develop, maintain, and track metrics for reporting results and support data driven decisions.
Retention and Growth of Career Pathways Participants
- Understand, articulate, and assist team members in the development of career pathway education and advancement options within the organization through ongoing, one-on-one relationships, serving as positive role model and
- Connect pathways participants to available/ applicable financial assistance programs.
- Provide career coaching services to individuals interested in career pathways programs.
- Market, recruit and select participants to target career pathways
- Provide regular insights and data on program status, successes, and opportunities for
- Support career pathways program participants in placement of job shadowing/ mentoring/ career development opportunities.
Qualifications
Education:
Exprerience:
Minimum of two years related experience in/with education, clinical professional development, work force development, and/or human resources.
Licenses/Skills/Abilities:
- Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Effective verbal and written communication skills to clearly express
- Basic computer knowledge using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and web browser.
- Proficient in adult learning theory, education needs assessments, education design, delivery, and measurement
