Summary:

In this role, you will play a key part in the success of optimizing cloud spending by bridging the gap between engineering, finance and business teams. The Finance Operations Engineering Lead will define and shape our FinOps practice. In this strategic role, you will build and manage a comprehensive cost optimization program that enhances our total cost of ownership for applications, streamlines license management, and aligns financial strategies with both our business operations and IT finance teams. Your leadership will be crucial in driving financial efficiency, operational excellence, and continuous process improvement across our technology landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define & Lead FinOps Practice: Develop and implement a FinOps strategy, establishing best practices and a scalable framework to manage cloud and IT expenditures.
• Cost Optimization & TCO Analysis: Oversee programs that optimize total cost of ownership for applications and infrastructure, utilizing data-driven insights to identify and implement cost-saving measures.
• License & Vendor Management: Collaborate with procurement and legal teams to manage software licenses and vendor contracts, ensuring cost-effective agreements and compliance.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Serve as a key liaison between business operations, IT finance, and engineering teams to ensure alignment on financial goals and technology investments.
• Metrics & Reporting: Establish and monitor KPIs, dashboards, and regular reporting mechanisms to track financial performance, resource utilization, and optimization efforts.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance financial processes, streamline workflows, and implement automation tools to improve overall efficiency.
• Team Leadership: Mentor and guide team members in FinOps methodologies, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Required Qualifications:

• Relevant degree preferred in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in cloud cost management, IT financial management, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated expertise in FinOps principles, cost optimization, and total cost of ownership analysis.
• Proven experience in managing software licenses and vendor relationships.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, with experience in cross-functional collaboration.
• Advanced degree or relevant certifications in FinOps, Cloud Cost Management or IT Financial Management is preferred.
• Experience working with major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and associated financial management tools preferred.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and process improvement frameworks preferred.
