As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team of experts you will be responsible for multiple Facilities construction projects within industrial, office, warehouse, and testing facilities to support the rapid growth of aerospace programs at Blue Origin's headquarters.This is a hands-on position focused on project oversight and engineering tasks that include remedial investigation, design, engineering and operation.This individual shall be the central figure and authority for management of the project within the approved scope and budget. The individual shall ensure adequate monitoring and controls are in place to meet or exceed Blue Origin's requirements. The role shall be responsible for coordinating and executing all phases of the project from design management to construction closeout and turnover to Blue Origin operations. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of construction project management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • OR equivalent on-the-job experience (4 years of additional experience in lieu of degree).
  • Experience leading and managing small- to medium-sized teams integrating multiple subsystems to meet a top-level system requirement.
  • Experience in sub-contract management of suppliers including request for proposal, statements of work and bid leveling/review.
  • Project leadership skills with the ability to work with stakeholders, knowledge of manufacturing operations, dynamic environments, assembly processes, and quality control.
  • Proficient with project management principles (i.e. PMP, PMBOK, ISO Standards, ANSI).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Projects).
  • Experience with project planning, schedule, cost estimation, budget management, project controls and quality controls.
  • Strong safety mindset and experience, including hands-on experience planning and conducting hazardous or critical operations.
  • Effectively manage multiple projects, across various project stakeholders, with the ability to be solution oriented, adaptable, and resourceful to ensure project and customer success.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion

Desired Qualifications:

  • Project Management Certification (PMP or other).
  • Strong technical understanding of MEP, HVAC, Fire life safety and critical system operations.
  • Recent facility development or management experience supporting mission critical operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Acting as an owner's representative, manage multiple full lifecycle construction projects from design management to operational turnover of multiple projects of varying complexity, budget, and duration for new and existing Blue Origin facilities.
  • Develop overall project plan consistent with project objectives as defined by the project owners and key stakeholders in accordance with accepted project management standards in the industry.
  • Maintain accurate electronic records and responsible for the accuracy of project information for the entire duration of the project.
  • Manage program and project contracts, controls, budgets and schedules for an entire project, to include developing construction cost estimates, RFPs, SOWs, contract management, and procurement.
  • Lead the Programming and Design Development efforts, often working with external architects and engineering design firms.
  • Provide value engineering solutions to key stakeholders for reducing project costs throughout design and construction.
  • Work with the local, regional, state, and national Authorities Having Jurisdiction to ensure construction is completed in a state of compliance to all regulations and codes we are subject to.
  • Prepare and present report-outs to senior leadership on the financial and schedule status of projects.
  • Plan and maintain safe construction working environments.
  • Travel Required: 25-50%

Compensation Range for:

WA applicants is $126,898.00-$177,656.85

  • Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification, Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only), vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.
