SHIFT: Day (United States of America)Lead the development and implementation of standards for manipulating, validating, cleaning, and staging data and files for complex research collections. Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines to support continuous increase in data volume and complexity. Work with bioinformatics experts and researchers to understand specific needs in bioinformatics end user domains. Serve as the data liaison for research efforts and institutional research groups contributing data to the archives. Collaborate with cross teams on the application of data handling practices as part of Research Data Management consultations to contribute research data to Arcus, a suite of tools and services that links biological, clinical, research, and environmental data to the Archivematica Archival Management system to preserve digital data for future re-use. Develop, test, and maintain custom scripts, SLURM jobs on high-performance computing (HPC) systems, and workflows required to automate, standardize, and validate the intake of data types, including Genomics, clinical research, and Biosample datasets, and MP4, JPG, and Audiovisual files into Arcus collections for collaborative research and discovery. Monitor data and biomedical fields for relevant developments in standards and processes. Collaborate with members of the Arcus Library Science team and other Arcus teams to design updates to the Archival Management System and other Arcus applications in support of better data handling practices of archiving and delivery of data to research labs. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Informatics or any applicable field and 5 years of experience, or alternatively a Master's degree in same and 3 years of experience. Experience must include working with complex medical datasets including genomics, clinical research, and biosample datasets, integrated clinical-omics data workflows, high performance computing (HPC) systems, SLURM jobs, Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud platform, and scripting languages (Python, R, Bash), as well as medical standards (HL7, ICD, CPT, SNOMED).
