What Risk Management contributes to Cardinal Health

Finance oversees the accounting, tax, financial plans and policies of the organization, establishes and maintains fiscal controls, prepares and interprets financial reports, oversees financial systems and safeguards the organization's assets.

Risk Management identifies property, casualty and executive risks, recommends risk transfer solutions and administers risk transfer programs. This family mitigates retained risk via loss prevention and loss control programs. This family also analyzes strategic, operational, economic, regulatory and compliance risks and facilitates mitigation strategies (e.g., business continuity) to address those risks.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the claims function within the organization which includes workers compensation, property, stock throughput (inventory), auto, general liability, mass torts, and medical malpractice.
  • Responsible for managing the relationship with the Third-Party Administrator, including conducting annual audits, as well as providing directions to employees, adjusters, legal counsel, industry consultants, and insurance companies.
  • Assist with renewing various insurance programs and participates in underwriter, renewal, & post renewal strategy meetings, as well as stewardship meetings with various brokers, vendors and third-party administrators.
  • Assist with maintaining and optimizing the departments risk management information system (RMIS).
  • Leads and supervises a team of two claims professionals.

Qualifications

  • 8-12 years of experience, preferred
  • Bachelors degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
  • Previous leadership experience, preferred

Anticipated salary range: $103,500 - $147,900
