REPORTS TO: Director of Education

DIRECT REPORTS: None

STATUS: Exempt (Minimum of 37.5 hours/week)

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Responsible for developing and coordinating online educational activities and related support functions in accordance with accreditation guidelines.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES (Minimum of 37.5 hours/week) :

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) within the AAAAI membership and other experts, as well as other AAAAI staff, to create and deliver a diverse mix of educational programs in enduring formats.
  • Build online courses and other educational resources using course authoring software and other tools as appropriate, for hosting in the AAAAI's learning management system (LMS).
  • Plan, develop, design, implement and evaluate continuing medical education activities to meet the educational needs of practicing allergist/immunologists and their care teams to close practice gaps in compliance with all accreditation and maintenance of certification standards and guidelines.
  • Monitor and revise expiring online courses in the LMS in collaboration with course authors.
  • Coordinate annual review of online course proposals in collaboration with the Office of Medical Education.
  • Support the proposal and reconciliation, in coordination with the Director of Education and the Executive Director, for educational grants in support of the continuing education program while maintaining compliance with accreditation requirements.
  • Provide customer service support regarding the registration, access and credit claiming for educational activities housed in LMS.
  • Serve as liaison to the Food Allergy and Eosinophilic Disorders Interest Section and Autoimmunity and Altered Immune Response Committee, coordinating activities to ensure achievement of Interest Section goals and objectives and providing direct administrative support with regard to meetings, conference calls, minutes, and reports to the Board.
  • Other duties as assigned.



AMOUNT OF TRAVEL REQUIRED:

Approximately 1-2 weeks per year; some evening and weekend work may be required.

Attendance at the Annual Meeting is required for this position. Exceptions are made due to physician-approved circumstances, based on AAAAI/EDI policy or supervisor discretion.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

1-2 years of instructional design/e-learning experience preferred; 1-2 years of association experience preferred; outstanding interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills; high accuracy and attention to detail; computer proficiency, including the use of instructional design software and database systems; Bachelor's degree.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Unrestricted mobility: must be able to walk great distances, move quickly from place to place, and lift and move 50-pound boxes.

*This position is located in downtown Milwaukee, WI and a minimum of two days onsite in the office (including Wednesday as an all-staff-in-office day) are a requirement of the role.
