Job Description: Leadman - PEMB
Summary/Objective:
A Leadman in the steel division is responsible for being an effective member of a Steel crew to complete daily production goals. They are responsible for assisting the Foreman in leading the crew and serving as a backup for the Foreman when they are away from work.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Extensive knowledge and ability to read and interpret all blueprint formats.
- Assigns workers tasks and assists with job site cleanup such as trash and debris control.
- Participate in trainings including on the job training and companywide mandatory trainings.
- Performs work that meets the company standard of having quality, productive, and safe work.
- Completes and trains quality detailed work.
- Mentors crew members on advanced PEMB skills.
- Assists with FCS program.
- Assists Foreman with daily job assignments to achieve daily production goal.
- Prepare material prior to assembly.
- Rig, hoisting and guiding components into place using cranes or telehandlers.
- Working from mobile elevated work platforms and operating them.
- Install fiberglass building insulation, metal cladding, standing seam roofs, insulated metal panels, windows, passage doors.
- Extensive knowledge of hand and power tools (hammers, levels & squares, circular saws, impact drills).
- Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedules.
- Cut and weld metal sections using metal shears, torches, and welding equipment and secure in place.
- Verifiable leadership qualities.

- Must be dependable and show up to work each day.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and in adverse conditions.
- Must be willing to learn new trades and skills.
- Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.

- Ability to work and communicate with others.
- Fabricate or alter parts at construction sites, using shears, hammers, punches, or drills.
- Using tag line, guides members in place then uses hand tools to pry, push, and pull the members. into place so that the connections can be made up.
- Lay out, positioning and securing of materials and work pieces during installation.
- Load, transports and unloads material, tools and equipment and supplies.
- Perform minor maintenance or cleaning activities of tools and equipment.
Position Requirements:
- Ability to follow safety guidelines in accordance with Mahaney, a Tecta America Company, LLC. Safety Policies.
- Ability to work various hours/schedules. Must be willing to travel occasional.
- Willingness and ability to learn new tasks.
- Ability to work with diverse teams.
- Ability to use hand and power tools.
- Ability to lift/carry 75+ lbs.
- Ability to climb a 40+ft ladder.
- Ability to stand on feet and sit on knees for long periods of time.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment physical, agility test, and drug screen.
Experience:
- 3-5 years or equivalent of work experience in the steel industry is required.
- Supervisory or management experience preferred.
- Experience with SSR roofing and insulated panels preferred.
Working Conditions:
- The position will be performed outdoors, and weather conditions will be a huge factor as work will occur in the heat, cold, rain, snow, etc.
- This position will be exposed to dusty and dirty conditions as well as hazardous materials.
- Work is done at elevated surface levels.
- Some work will be performed in an ariel lift.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time nonexempt position. Hours of work and start times vary depending on the season. This position has supervisory responsibilities.

- Hourly wage range: $22/hr. to $25/hr.
