Intern - IT Desktop Support and Security

As an Intern - IT Desktop Support and Security your goal is to work in a role designed to support our commitment to maintaining excellent IT and Security practices. You will play a key role in handling security issues and managing IT assets while ensuring a high level of customer service.The position also offers the opportunity to interact with (and get exposure to) leadership, up to and including, the executive level. #LI-DNP

This position requires the intern to work out of our corporate headquarters. The role is scheduled to start after the spring 2025 semester and be full time during the summer period. It has the potential to continue into the school year on a part time basis.

You will do this by:

  • Monitoring and reporting on security metrics to ensure compliance with internal standards and industry best practices
  • Managing and tracking IT assets, ensuring they are maintained and accounted for accurately
  • Providing prompt and courteous helpdesk support, resolving technical issues to ensure uninterrupted service
  • Collaborating with team members to enhance security protocols and response strategies
  • Engaging with internal users to educate and assist them with security best practices and IT resource utilization

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited college or university studying toward a Bachelors/Associates degree in specified function
  • Must complete the sophomore year in the major program of study prior to beginning
  • Must have and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5/4.0
  • Basic understanding of computer, networking, or security operations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on work experience in specified function is helpful

Additional Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong working knowledge of computer software
  • Candidates should have a long-term interest in specified function
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Possess poise and the ability to interact with people in a professional manner
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Demonstrates critical thinking, problem solving and analysis skills
  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location
