Overview

The Body Shop Manager is responsible for the efficient and profitable operation of the Body Shop/Collision Center in alignment with TEC Vision, Mission, Values, and policies/procedures. The person in this position will be held accountable to developing and maintaining valued customer relationships, creating opportunities that result in strong, steady, and sustainable business growth, and the management of the team toward set goals.

The person in this position must embody company values: Teamwork, Entrepreneurship, and Customer Focus; and ensure every team member is delivering a customer experience that ensures TEC Equipment continues to be recognized by customers as their Best Business Partner.



Responsibilities

    Utilize reporting and management tools to analyze department performance, manage expenses, and make informed decisions.
  • Accurately forecast monthly and annual business results; create business plan with guidance from manager and corporate finance support.
  • Actively manage and assume ownership for outcomes on a daily, monthly, and annual basis.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, embracing change where needed to stay ahead.
  • Walk the shop daily with staff to help facilitate communication across the organization, ensure alignment on priorities, and identify areas that need support.
  • Establish quality control procedures to monitor work, make corrections, and provide feedback for future services. Provide a safe working environment and reinforce a culture of safety.
  • Build and grow customer relationships and loyalty by providing expectations up front and meeting them, assuring prompt high-quality work, resolving complaints, and solving problems.
  • Contact existing customers and potential new customers on a regular basis, develop strong relationships at the appropriate level. Become our customers' best resource (AKA Best Business Partner) for finding solutions. Solicit feedback from team regularly to identify opportunities to improve customer experience; communicate or act on feedback as appropriate.
  • Establish department vision that aligns with overall TEC Vision, ensuring it is visible and understood by employees and key stakeholders.
  • Develop system/process for supporting and monitoring progress of employees through regular, productive interaction including timely and regular feedback, recognition, coaching, and corrective action.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels to support the work load, encourage departmental growth, and maximize profitability; review and update regularly to align with business climate.
  • Work with all other departments to maximize dealer profitability and customer satisfaction. Develop and maintain excellent vendor relationships.
  • Align department activities with the TEC value proposition and ensure that every employee and customer understands our values and customer commitment. Serve as leader and role-model to team by conducting self with highest of ethical and professional standards and modeling the TEC Core values.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associates degree in truck service management or other related field preferred
  • Minimum five years' successful experience in management with proven history of achieving sales and business objectives; related experience within automotive/trucking industry
  • Successful experience in managing internal and external relationships, using influence to
  • Experience with P&L responsibility
  • Knowledge of truck or heavy equipment repair and quality standards
  • Knowledge and understanding of automotive/trucking industry
  • Sound business acumen with ability to analyze, prioritize, identify, and execute solutions
  • Excellent people management and leadership skills
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to build relationships with internal and external contacts
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to visit customers and occasionally travel to our other locations


Compensation

The base pay range for this position is $80,392 to $100,490.
