Job Summary

The Director of Graduate Admissions and Recruitment is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive graduate enrollment strategy that aligns with university objectives to grow graduate enrollment. This role provides leadership and supervision to the graduate recruitment team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment. The director works closely with deans, department chairs, and program directors to implement innovative recruitment and yield strategies while ensuring a seamless admissions process for prospective students. This role requires effective leadership, data-informed decision-making, and a commitment to graduate education. The director is part of the university's Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) Council.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive graduate enrollment strategy to include annual recruitment plans that align with university objectives to grow graduate enrollment
  • Provide leadership and supervision to recruitment staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture
  • Work with deans, department chairs, and program directors to develop and implement innovative recruitment and yield strategies for graduate students
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to graduate admissions and analyze enrollment trends (market research and competitor analysis) to inform recruitment strategies and projections.
  • Develop reports and presentations for university leadership on graduate enrollment trends and projections
  • Work with admissions processing and Slate captain (CRM tool) to optimize the student experience and processing efficiency
  • Partner with marketing and communication teams to enhance the visibility of graduate programs and attract high-quality applicants
  • Collaborate with the program directors to develop policies and procedures that streamline the admissions process while maintaining compliance with university, state, and federal regulations
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the graduate admissions office and academic departments, providing training and guidance on best practices for new student recruitment
  • Cultivate relationships with prospective students, faculty, staff, alumni, and external partners to promote graduate programs and foster collaboration opportunities
  • Manages graduate admissions budget to maximize recruitment efforts and operational efficiency


Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
  • Master's Degree

Required Experience
  • Five (5) or more years of supervisory experience in student recruitment, admissions-related departments, or experience building sales teams.


Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Educational Qualifications
  • Terminal degree

Preferred Experience
  • Experience in leading admissions teams in graduate admissions.
  • Sales-driven mindset with the ability to build relationships, influence decisions, and convert inquiries into enrollments.


Proposed Salary

$90,000 - $100,000

This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
