Job Summary:

Responsible for the overall supervision and direction of Cooperative Title & Settlement. Leads the team through on-going coaching and development to ensure focus on efficiency and exceptional member service. Ensures proper reporting and compliance is met according to industry regulations. Grows the business while maximizing profitability. Responsible for title underwriting.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:



  • Plans, directs, and monitors all daily operations of Title company with consideration for providing excellent customer service.
  • Completes all administrative tasks associated with managing staff including performance reviews, counseling, coaching, time off, and timesheet approvals.
  • Markets the company to Attorneys, Realtors, and lenders to build multiple sources of revenue.
  • Develops, coaches, and trains member of the department for continuous assessment and calibration to ensure performance expectations are met and proper staffing levels are maintained.
  • Maintains and develops key performance indicators to measure performance.
  • Orders and reviews title searches.
  • Prepares commitments, title policies, and monthly underwriter reports.
  • Ensures the proper recordation and release of documents occurs.
  • Ensures title exceptions are cleared.
  • Approves all loans for closure or declination.
  • Provides lender with required closing documentation.
  • Oversees the accurate distribution of closing funds in the timeframe set by federal regulations.



Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Finance, Business Management, or another related field preferred or an equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience.
  • Minimum of three years working as a licensed Virginia title insurance underwriter required.
  • Current good standing with the Virginia Bureau of Insurance required.
  • Minimum two years of supervisory experience preferred.
