Who we are looking for:

We are currently searching for a Plant Administrative Assistant to be based out of our Hobart, IN facility. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this person will be responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to the Hobart facility operations.

What you'll do:



  • Oversee and manage various site programs including service contracts, invoicing, and day-to-day coordination. These programs include parking, uniforms, vending, security, housekeeping, and other services for our facilities. Serves as the primary contact to coordinate with on-premises Security services.
  • Provide primary administrative support for the site partnering with the management staff to coordinate schedules, site visits, event coordination, and site communications.
  • Oversee office/facility upgrades and partner with various departments as required to support operations or facility needs as requested.
  • Serve as initial point of contact for customers and guests by answering phones or greeting individuals visiting the facility.
  • Prepare internal communications or presentations for the facility including various meetings, roundtables, townhalls, etc.
  • Partner with Human Resources directly to provide administrative support including electronic file management, employee onboarding, and employee engagement activities.
  • Assist with scheduling and communicating with candidates for employment.
  • Assist with internal/external office courier, shipping, or mail services.
  • Prepare reports, matrices, presentations, and communications as needed.
  • Must be willing to provide administrative assistance as needed on the shop floor in a manufacturing environment.


What you'll bring:



  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience supporting site operations in an Administrative Support role required.
  • Strong proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization skills, and a self-starter.
  • Capacity to perform at a high level in a fast-paced working environment.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, plan workload, and establish priorities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and comfortably with all levels of the organization, both written and verbal.

  • Must possess a positive attitude, be a team player, and have a strong work ethic.


Within 3 months, you'll:



  • Be responsible for managing all vendors and visitors to the facility.
  • Be responsible for managing and booking all conference rooms and office spaces.
  • Manage facility wide communications for events, internal job postings, and announcements.
  • Be responsible for ordering supplies and consumables for the facility.
  • Complete Atkore New Hire Immersion.


Within 6 months, you'll



  • Be responsible managing 5s initiatives in the office and storage areas.
  • Maintain site event calendars and communicate events to the entire facility.
  • Manage Community outreach for site participation in local events.
  • Be responsible for gathering information for applicable site scorecards and reports and ensuring accuracy.


Within 12 months, you'll



  • Assist with recordkeeping for major site projects and initiatives.
  • Own the planning and execution of employee events for the site.
  • Manage all requests as given by the Director of Operations.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $44,560 - $61,270. Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
