Position Overview
Position Summary |
The University Library technician provides library services in response to the information needs of users in the Media Production Lab service area. This position serves the entire campus community with support of their media based projects and helps maintain the Media Production Lab space and equipment. The position provides superior quality customer service, and a high level of knowledge around the development and creation of media based outputs. The successful candidate will work with library team members in assisting students, faculty, and staff with media based projects. They will use their knowledge of hardware and software to help maintain the Media Production Lab space for the continued use by the University Community. The hours of this position are Monday-Thursday 1:00pm-10:00pm, and Friday from 9:00am-6:00pm. Some work on Saturdays may be needed.
Knowledge - Technical
Possesses a designated level of technical skill or knowledge in audiovisual equipment operation and maintenance and media production techniques and the ability to keep up with current developments and trends in area of expertise.
Decision Making
Ability to translate concepts into media products using artistic techniques and talents
Instruction
Ability to instruct and train staff and faculty by providing information, including appropriate procedures, practices and/or the operation of equipment
Communication
Ability to present information to individuals or groups suited to the characteristics and needs of the audience including alternative ways to inform and entertains via written oral and visual media.
