Purpose of the Job The Director of Marketing leads the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of Truliant's marketing operations, including brand and advertising, creative development, member communications, graphic design, social media, and internal communications. This role provides critical marketing support, including the branch network, ancillary business lines, and Truliant's Credit Union Service Organization (CUSO). The Director ensures alignment between marketing efforts and organizational objectives to drive business growth, enhance the member experience, and strengthen brand identity. This position manages a team of marketing professionals and collaborates with internal stakeholders, external agencies, and vendor partners to ensure the effective delivery of high-impact, data-driven marketing strategies. Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Provides direction and leadership to the marketing team, cultivating a high-performing and collaborative culture.
- Oversees all aspects of marketing operations, including brand strategy, creative development, campaign execution, advertising, member and internal communications, graphic design, and social media.
- Leads the development and implementation of integrated marketing plans that support organizational priorities across consumer, commercial, and CUSO lines of business.
- Ensures consistent brand messaging and visual identity across all channels, including print, digital, social media, and in-branch communications.
- Translates business objectives into actionable marketing strategies, aligning cross-functional initiatives to support loan growth, deposit growth, and member engagement.
- Partners with branch and line-of-business leaders to develop targeted campaigns that support local marketing needs, promotions, and member acquisition efforts.
- Drives quick and thorough execution of marketing initiatives, ensuring timely delivery without compromising quality, accuracy, or brand integrity.
- Oversees internal communications strategies to keep employees informed, engaged, and aligned with the organization's mission and values.
- Leads the strategy and execution of member communications across channels to ensure clarity, relevance, and consistency with Truliant's brand voice and tone.
- Partners closely with the Vice President of E-Commerce to support and execute the organization's digital marketing strategy, including digital advertising, website optimization, and using Salesforce CRM for targeted campaigns and performance tracking.
- Utilizes marketing analytics and campaign performance data to optimize targeting, messaging, media mix, and channel strategy.
- Develops and manages the annual marketing budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and ROI across initiatives.
- Maintains strong vendor and agency relationships, ensuring timely delivery, quality, and alignment with strategic goals.
- Collaborates with Compliance and business line stakeholders to ensure marketing content meets all regulatory and brand standards.
- Coaches and develops marketing staff through regular feedback, training, and performance evaluations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must have a deep understanding of marketing, communications, and social media best practices, with knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements.
- Must be team-oriented with a positive, adaptable attitude; skilled at building strong relationships, fostering collaboration, and managing shifting priorities.
- Must have a proven ability to lead multiple marketing projects from inception to completion, ensuring accuracy, quality, and on-time delivery.
- Must have a strong grasp of design principles, layout, copywriting, and digital file formats (e.g., TIFF, GIF, EPS, PSD, PDF). Solid understanding of print and digital production workflows.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including copywriting, proofreading, and grammar. Confident public speaker and effective communicator across audiences.
- Must be proficient with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) in a PC environment, and skilled in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Must be highly organized and able to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and maintain strong attention to detail across concurrent projects.
- Must be skilled in managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring successful, cost-effective execution of marketing initiatives.
- Must thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with the ability to pivot quickly, think creatively, and resolve challenges effectively.
- Must be able to work autonomously and take ownership of responsibilities while maintaining a high standard of excellence.
- Must have strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret marketing data, evaluate performance metrics, and apply insights to optimize strategies.
- Must be passionate about enhancing the member experience through thoughtful, impactful, and personalized marketing approaches.
- Physical Requirements

Education and Background
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field is required; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
- A minimum of 7 years of progressive marketing management experience and a strong background in leading teams and executing strategic initiatives are required.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing, advertising, and brand management, preferably in a highly regulated or member-focused environment.
- Demonstrated experience in project management, including planning, organizing, and managing resources to achieve specific goals and deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Prior experience in the financial services industry is preferred.
