Summary:

The Cell & Systems Biology Staff Scientist focuses on understanding the cellular mechanisms involved in host-pathogen interactions and supports integrated multiomics research in high-containment environments. Supports laboratory research in cell biology and systems biology to study mechanisms of disease and host response to infection.


Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Conduct in vitro and in vivo experiments to characterize cellular response.
  • Work closely with proteomics and transcriptomics teams.
  • Support data integration for systems biology models.
  • Prepare SOPs and regulatory-compliant reports.
  • Train junior personnel in lab methods.
  • The contractor will be expected to execute their assigned tasks, and to share their findings with other members of the project team. Possesses good written and oral communication skills.
  • The Contractor is expected to write reports and publications and present their findings in meetings.

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of immunological signaling pathways.
  • Familiarity with tissue sample processing.
  • Strong analytical and collaboration skills.
  • Shall be knowledgeable in a relevant field of the life sciences and have desired experience working in a research laboratory.
  • Shall have demonstrated their subject matter expertise in at least one area, and their ability to conduct independent research through publication of several technical reports and/or peer-reviewed publications.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in biology or related field.
  • Minimum 4+ years in biomedical, cellular, or systems biology research.
  • Experience in cell culture and imaging techniques.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance eligibility, with no access to classified information, is required.
  • Enroll in the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP), if required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ACTIVE SECRET is preferred
  • Master's degree preferred.

Pay and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $95,000 to $113,000 annually.
