DC Process Flow Controller - R Shift

Purpose: The DC Process Controller-Flow will work to continuously optimize DC operations and material flow by engaging with various stakeholders and area managers across their shift to improve operational metrics. They are the conduit for information gathering and distribution between the Operation, Wave Planning, Inventory Control, and IT. They support the Pick/Pack and Inbound/Outbound Managers on their respective shift to maintain the flow of the facility by executing the key responsibilities list in the section below.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Monitor and maintain the building's workflow
  • Participate in the daily planning meetings to build the shift plan, document, and distribute
  • Monitor work in process (WIP) in each functional area and escalate as adjustments are needed
  • Gather, create, monitor, prioritize, and distribute IT and Maintenance tickets, providing additional follow-up and escalation as needed for urgent issues
  • Collaborate with the Operations leaders and Wave Planning to coordinate wave release to ensure business requirements, service levels, and delivery schedules are achieved
  • Manage the collection, reporting, and feedback regarding operations functions using the systems and tools
  • Communicate effectively with all teams within the DC ensuring that intra-shift targets are achieved and the plan for the subsequent shift is shared and aligned
  • Facilitate and communicate issues impacting Cuts, Wave Closure, Throughput, and SLA

* Support Areas: IT, IC/QA, Productivity Planning, Engineering, Maintenance, etc.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:



  • Requires strong written and verbal communication skills to partner closely with multiple internal stakeholders. Ability to read, write and interpret communications in the English language
  • Possesses the ability to work autonomously while maintaining composure and service quality in a fast paced, time-sensitive environment with competing priorities
  • Well-organized with the capability to effectively multi-task
  • Strong attention to detail and effective prioritization
  • Ability to obtain, interpret, and apply information needed to make sound decisions
  • General MS-Office skills (Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook).
  • Working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) principles and ideally knowledge of Warehouse Control Systems (WCS)
  • Strong knowledge of DC operations, including storage methods and material flow
  • Performance and metrics driven mindset



While performing the duties of this job, the employee is:



  • work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures
  • regularly required to talk, hear; sit, stand and/or walk; use fingers, hands, arms and feet to feel, handle, grip, grasp, lift, operate, push, pull, bend, and/or twist for up to twelve (12) hours/day
  • occasionally required to climb, stoop, kneel and/or crouch
  • occasionally lift and carry items such as boxes weighing up to fifty (50) pounds
  • work safely on elevated surfaces (2nd level mezzanine)
  • able to reliably attend work/scheduled hours



Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Minimum of (1) year related distribution experience and/or training
  • Required to speak, read, write and comprehend the English language

  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as required
