This is a Co-op / Intern req. Must be enrolled in a degree program at the start of the internship in order to be eligible.

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for providing technical support within the manufacturing engineering department, allowing the manufacturing engineers to focus on the strategic aspects of sustaining production and supporting new product introduction. This position will provide vital medical device manufacturing experience that can be the keystone to a lifelong career.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop and maintain a good working knowledge of general product development process, current and next generation project activities, and basic technical and clinical fundamentals of the products.

  • Assist in the development, documentation, prototyping, testing, validation and implementation of new/improved manufacturing processes.

  • Perform various test functions on devices/equipment and provide meaningful analysis/interpretation of data.

  • Create and release documentation to support production, Assembly Procedures, Lot History Records, Manufacturing Specifications, Work Instructions, Parts Lists, etc. Provide appropriate detail in change request justifications and ensure all necessary reference documentation exists and is audit ready.

  • Support IQ's, OQ's and PQ's when introducing new or changing existing manufacturing equipment.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Comply with all policies and standards.

  • Any other job responsibilities as assigned by management and subject to modification.

Required / Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Must be currently pursuing a BS or MS in Engineering at an accredited University, graduating no sooner than June 2025

  • Must be able to work onsite in San Jose, CA for 9 months duration at least 20 hrs/week. Remote work is not sustainable long term for this position. Hands-on work is required periodically throughout the 9-month term. Local candidates within commute of San Jose preferred. No relocation expenses provided.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Computer Aided Design (CAD) software competence (SolidWorks preferred)

  • 3D printing experience a plus

  • Microscope and measurement equipment familiarity

  • Strong time management skills with emphasis on managing multiple projects simultaneously

  • Clear and informative writing skills; vary writing style to meet needs; present numerical data effectively.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint., etc.)

  • Accuracy and thoroughness; applies feedback to improve performance.

  • Strong attention to detail; monitors own work to ensure quality.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.

  • Knowledge of Statistical software (Minitab, JMP., etc) preferred.
