About This Role

The IT Development Specialist will be responsible for maintaining the day-to-day operations of the organization's systems and applications, both on-premises and cloud-hosted. Serving as an escalation for service tickets that have been triaged by the help desk and escalated and assigned by the IT Development Operations Business Partner. This role ensures the availability and reliability of systems, assists in implementing new applications and platforms, and supports the IT team in improving efficiency, productivity, and reliability. They must ensure that development adheres to best practices and is compliant with the organization's policies, standards, and regulations. Additionally, they must follow version control practices using GitHub.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing on-premises and cloud datacenter application resources (Azure, Egnyte and GitHub), infrastructure, performing maintenance and upkeep of business applications/systems.
  • Evaluating and implementing new technologies and systems under the direction of the IT Development Operations Business Partner, with a focus on improving software development processes and code quality.
  • Developing and implementing procedures and documentation to improve training and adoption.
  • Ensuring that all IT support and project requests (escalated or self-assigned) are documented, communicated and end-user expectations are set in a timely manner and delivered to them.
  • Maintaining a strong understanding of the organization's business needs and working closely with IT team to ensure efficient and effective implementation of core business applications/systems.
  • Keeping up to date with the latest industry trends and developments in IT.
  • Providing support to IT team members.
  • Overseeing ongoing maintenance of core business applications/systems.
  • Ensuring effective uptime, data resilience and performance, in partnership with IT Operations Manager.
  • Manage code repositories using GitHub, including branching, merging, and resolving conflicts. Adhere to change management procedures to ensure proper versioning of code and maintain a history of changes to facilitate collaboration and code review processes.

Qualifications

Education Preferred

  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science, IT, or relevant field or equivalent years of service

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field preferred
  • 1-2 years of related IT experience
  • Previous experience application development and IT systems administration/integrations

Computer Skills:

  • Management of on-premises and cloud core business applications/systems
  • Management of Microsoft Power Platform and Azure Services
  • Management of Users and Computers in Active Directory and Azure Active Directory
  • Management of Office 365 (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive)
  • Proficient with hardware troubleshooting and replacement
  • Support of Windows XP+
  • Support of Windows Server 2008+
  • Support of MacOS
  • Support of Android and iOS
  • Understanding of file share permissions and DFS
  • Deployment of new equipment
  • Understanding of PowerShell
  • Understanding of Microsoft .NET
  • Understanding of Microsoft SQL

Other Skills/Abilities or Other Qualifications

  • Developing and implementing policies, procedures, and processes to improve IT development and increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Partnering technology vendors and service providers to ensure that the organization's technology needs are met.
  • Evaluating and implementing new technologies and systems that improve IT infrastructure and support the organization's business goals.
  • Provide support and guidance to stakeholders via helpdesk.
