JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: Marketing Intern

Reports To: Marketing Manager

Department: Marketing

Location: Baker Publishing Group, 6030 E Fulton, Ada, MI 49301

Position Type: Paid Internship (13 hours/week)

Duration: May 2025 - August 2025

Baker Publishing Group is currently accepting applications for a creative and motivated Summer Marketing Intern to assist our nonfiction marketing team in social media management, graphic design guidance, and paid advertising. This role offers hands-on experience in digital marketing within a faith-based publishing environment. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, detail-oriented, and passionate about Christian publishing and digital engagement.

Responsibilities:

Social Media Management



  • Assist in planning and creating social media content across platforms.
  • Take full ownership of social media content creation and scheduling for a specific timeframe.
  • Analyze social media performance and provide insights for improvement.


Paid Advertising



  • Learn the fundamentals of Meta (Facebook & Instagram) ad campaigns.
  • Set up and manage ad campaigns under guidance.
  • Track ad performance and report key metrics to the team.


Publishing Industry Exposure



  • Gain an in-depth understanding of the publishing industry through job overview meetings with employees from various departments and divisions.
  • Meet and assist on author-facing projects, contributing to marketing initiatives that support book launches and promotions.
  • Assist in the creation of a book reviewer program, helping to establish connections with potential reviewers and influencers.


General Marketing Support



  • Research social media trends and digital marketing strategies relevant to the Christian publishing space.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute creative ideas.
  • Assist with additional marketing projects as needed.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Passion for Christian publishing and digital marketing.
  • Basic experience with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.).
  • Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or other graphic design tools is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn and take initiative.



Compensation and Benefits

This is a paid internship. Academic credit can be provided by an intern's accredited institution, if desired.
