Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

The Learning Specialist assists in the research, design and delivery of team member and leadership development training programs and initiatives including classroom and e-learning workshops . Responsibilities include identifying business needs and priorities for educational programs; establishing curriculums and creating instructional design for both classroom and e-learning environments, evaluating new or existing course content and making revisions, designing learning and development materials, ordering and documenting classroom material as well asdelivering the training and conducting an assessment and evaluation of the training's effectiveness. Coordinates enterprise-wide virtual/classroom learning events in support of leadership and organizational goals. Acts as liaison between training vendors, legal, accounts payable and the Enterprise Learning & Development (EL&D) group to establish & maintain service contracts. Responsible for the planning and coordination of large scale events, including Leadership Forum, Town Hall Meetings, Leadership Academies as well as Physician networking programs. Responsible for design and delivery of the New Team Member/Leader Onboarding Programs. Responsible for the roll-out of the annual employee engagement survey and acts as the main point of contact for leadership, HR Business Partners, employees and survey vendor. Provides facilitation support during business meetings, off-sites and retreats.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the hospital's policies and procedures, including its Service Standards and its Code of Conduct.
  • Delivers training utilizing knowledge of adult learning theory and facilitates group process and participation in development exercises.
  • Designs and creates instructional design for both classroom and e-learning programs.
  • Conducts interviews with leadership and staff to identify educational needs and priorities. Researches and evaluates internal and external training programs to determine best fit product to meet client's business needs. Adapts course material as needed.
  • Defines course objectives, writes instructor guide, designs training and development exercises and determines appropriate teaching aids and materials. Designs course evaluations, analyzes data, records and tracks results and establishes an action plan as needed.
  • Provides assistance to leaders and employees related to instructional programs available and/or information on education and training related to career development.
  • Acts as primary liaison negotiating contracts with training vendors (including vendor price negotiation) and external consultants to ensure cost effectiveness and compliance with Legal and Accounts Payable. Troubleshoots and/or escalates any challenges which arise during the contracting process.
  • Delivers New Team Member/Leader Onboarding (TMO/TLO) programs and works with HR and other business partners in the design, development and delivery of the program.
  • Ghost writes talking points for executives for Team Member/Leader Onboarding (TMO/TLO) programs Co-facilitates physician leader events. Partners with MarCom (Marketing Communication) to implement organization-wide communication plans on a variety of programs, including Leadership Development and Performance Management.
  • Develops course/course- related materials (including videos) and training project plans in partnership with cross-functional team members, Marketing Communication, printers and other vendors.
  • Writes course descriptions and learning objectives for the Learning Management System (LMS) and provides routine support to the ongoing operation, maintenance, usage, analysis and administration. Acts as primary registrar to post courses and ensure classes are filled by proactively marketing and confirming participation. Acts as the point of contact for customer service issues and resolves HR escalations.
  • Oversees the administrative logistics for EL&D programs ensuring preparation and distribution of course materials and attendance records are maintained. Leads training logistics for team to include: booking venues; catering; and room logistics.
  • Leads cross-functional teams, including physician leaders and adult hospital/enterprise representatives, to establish timeline for employee engagement pre-survey, survey and post-survey activities which include data scrubbing, communication planning, incentive planning and procurement, collateral design and production, etc. Tracks survey-related metrics and produces executive summaries and reports.
  • Oversees and coordinates enterprise-wide learning events, including Leadership Forum, Town Hall Meetings, Physician Networking, & Leadership Academy programs.
  • Develops program invitations/invitation lists and announcements; selects venues, caterers, menus; co-creates event themes with executive sponsors and event planning consultants, providers and suppliers; coordinates technical support and arranges parking and transportation.
  • Manages all aspects of purchasing, procurement, inventory and storage of all EL&D program materials and resources.
  • Prepares metrics for annual Board Report. Completes necessary application to obtain approval for courses eligible for professional continuing education contact hours.
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

Education: Bachelor's degree in a work related field or discipline from an accredited college or university
Experience: Two (2) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience.
License/Certification: None required.

Pay Range
Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role.
Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities, as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
Typically, new team members join at the minimum to mid salary range.
Minimum to Midpoint Range (Hourly): $43.56 to $57.77
