Aircraft Painter Instructor/Facilitator

Position Type: Onsite Summary:
The Aircraft Painter Instructor/Facilitator position supports the onsite operations in Chesapeake, VA. The instructor will provide training to USN and USMC personnel on how to paint and polish aircraft, applying paint, epoxy, and other materials to address corrosion and ensure proper aircraft surface treatment. Responsibilities:
Identify, treat, and correct corrosion on various aircraft components such as the frame, tail, wings, and engine, implementing effective corrosion prevention and control measures.
Conduct HAZMAT identification, control, disposal, and tracking activities in accordance with EPA, PHMSA, and OSHA requirements, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards.
Perform towing of aircraft and equipment around civilian airfields, ensuring safe and efficient movement in compliance with airfield regulations and safety protocols.
Support trainees when registering, accessing, and completing CBT IMI.
Respond to requests from trainees for assistance within 24 hours of receipt.
Execute lab-focused, facilitator-led F2F activities.
Facilitate lab-focused, facilitator-led activities using pre-determined scenarios provided as GFI.
Guide trainees in proper corrosion-based procedures during lab-focused, facilitator-led activities.
Complete pre-developed performance checklists, using CoECF electronic equipment to document trainees' progress in completing required performance tasks.
Document completion success/failure for each step within a lab performance task and record notes corresponding to methods for improving trainees' performance.
Debrief lab-focused, facilitator-led F2F activities with trainees.
Record grades for each trainee into the CoECF LMS and into CeTARS within 72 hours of the course convening ending.
Support Government Evaluators in the execution of all assessments (i.e., Written, Oral, and Performance).
Document updates to curricula for annual review.
Collect student feedback after each course convening for curricula review.
Requirements:
11 years of USN/USMC experience as an Aircraft Painter.
Navy certified Master Training Specialist Certificate and/or Instructor Training Certificate (or civilian equivalent).
Completed the Corrosion Control Basic course (C-600-3180 or CNATT-000-bcc-025-002-02) (or equivalent).
Held a supervisory position in Work Center 12C (or civilian equivalent).
Minimum of two (2) years' experience as a Navy (or civilian) Facilitator.
Experienced in identifying, treating, and correcting corrosion.
Experienced in cleaning aircraft surfaces, setting up, and using equipment to apply paint, epoxy, and other materials, ensuring high-quality corrosion prevention and control.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Managed and facilitated corrosion control training programs, providing instruction and guidance to maintenance personnel on best practices and safety protocols.
Minimum of two (2) years' experience as a corrosion or finish course Facilitator.
