Join our dynamic Compliance team in Dallas and play a critical role in driving the firm's compliance framework and its implementation. About the Role: As a Compliance Associate within our Controls, Finance, and Operating ("CF&O") Compliance team, you will be on the front lines of protecting our firm by providing compliance coverage to the Executive Office. This role offers a unique opportunity to directly engage with and advise global stakeholders within the Executive Office and throughout the firm. Imagine Yourself:
- Providing Expert Compliance Guidance: Collaborate on marketing materials and initiatives originating from the Executive Office's Global Marketing team, helping to ensure the firm's communications align with the GS brand's highest standards and regulatory expectations
- Being a Trusted Advisor: Become a go-to resource for Global Marketing and other Executive Office stakeholders, offering proactive advice on navigating complex regulatory landscapes and mitigating potential risks on many different nuanced situations.
- Making a Tangible Impact: Your contributions will directly contribute to maintaining the firm's reputation, fostering a culture of compliance, and protecting the interests of our clients and shareholders.
- Driving Compliance Forward: Participate in global initiatives to enhance our compliance framework, contributing to a best-in-class compliance program.
What You'll Do:
- Review, recommend and approve external-facing information and marketing materials to identify, prevent and mitigate reputational and regulatory risks.
- Coordinate content reviews with cross-divisional teams, as well as internal subject matter experts, to provide comprehensive guidance to the Executive Office.
- Regularly review and update policy and procedure documentation related to communications and marketing activities.
- Draft, update, and deliver training and communications related to the Executive Office stakeholders, tailored to the needs of personnel.
- Assess and communicate risk considerations across a range of topics impacting the Executive Office and the firm more broadly.
- Identify, investigate, and manage compliance issues. Provide day-to-day Compliance oversight to personnel, including personal Compliance matters.
- Review surveillance alerts and conduct forensic reviews to monitor compliance with regulations and firm policies.
- Develop and maintain relationships to enable frequent interaction with other areas of the firm and professionals across the globe.
What You'll Bring:
- Integrity, ethical standards, and sound judgment.
- Bachelor's degree.
- 3-8 years of prior work experience as a compliance officer, including at least 2 years of work experience in a marketing-related risk management role.
- Proficient to advanced skills with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
- Strong ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
- Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) are essential. Prior experience in communications, editorial roles, staff writing, or a law school journal type role is highly valued.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and to adapt quickly to a variety of industries and businesses.
- Ability to self-direct, analyze, evaluate, and form independent judgments.
- Ability to effectively interact and build relationships with senior management and global stakeholders.
- Commercially savvy with the ability to exercise discretion with respect to highly confidential/sensitive information.
