Johnson Controls is seeking a talented HVAC Controls Engineer to join our team at Castleton Park in Indianapolis. In this role, you'll design and commission intelligent building systems that integrate HVAC, fire, security, lighting, and other low-voltage subsystems.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Design and configure advanced building control systems based on project specs

• Develop software programs and sequences of operation for HVAC and integrated systems

• Create flow diagrams, network layouts, electrical schematics, and bills of material

• Coordinate submittals, equipment schedules, and factory-mounting processes

• Commission system and network-level controllers and validate full system functionality

• Troubleshoot cross-discipline issues to ensure seamless operation

• Provide technical documentation and training to customers and field teams

• Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and consultants

• Perform value engineering to optimize performance and cost

• Uphold safety standards throughout the project lifecycle

What We're Looking For:

Required Qualifications:

• Associate degree in a technical field with 7+ years of relevant experience

• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical schematics, control theory, and building automation

• Experience integrating low-voltage subsystems using protocols like BACnet, LON, Modbus

• Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

• Proficiency in drafting tools (e.g., Visio) and advanced computer skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with 5+ years of experience

• Familiarity with IP networking and Tridium/Niagara Framework

• Experience in the construction, mechanical, or electrical service industry

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $81,800.00 - 122,600.00 USD Annual. (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This position includes a competitive benefits package.
