Description
This position is a Full-Time, 12-hour Day Shift, with a rotating work schedule that includes weekends. Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego is in the heart of Hillcrest. It was founded in 1890 and is the county's oldest medical center. We offer a wide range of specialty services, including 24-hour emergency care, robotic surgery, prenatal care (including NICU) and outpatient physical rehab. As an Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech), you will support emergency department or urgent care by performing basic emergency medical procedures as directed. * Under supervision, assists nurses and physicians in the performance of their functions. * You will perform assessment of vital signs, thermal applications, non-sterile soaks, application of simple dressings and splints, stool and urine collection. * You will also prepare patients for examinations/treatments including draping patients, opening sterile supplies, set up and removal of IV's. * Assists in collection of patient history and ensures confidentiality of records, as well as, clean and prepare rooms between procedures including changing of bed linens and restocking of room supplies. You may transport patients and/or provide coverage for the unit secretary. Qualifications
