Minimum Requirements

Identity and Access Management (IAM) Administrator I | Infrastructure Security



  • Bachelors' degree in Information Technology or related field
  • AND one (1) year of prior relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and directly related experience.
  • Requires basic technical subject matter knowledge within a job area or system



Identity and Access Management (IAM) Administrator II | Infrastructure Security



  • Bachelors' degree in Information Technology or related field
  • ANDtwo (2) years of prior relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and directly related experience.
  • Requires working technical knowledge gained through experience within a job area or system.


Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications



  • Knowledge of network/infrastructure operating systems and equipment, such as servers, PCs, switches, routers, and emerging technologies; troubleshooting and resolution practices; system performance analysis techniques; installation, configuration, optimization and maintenance techniques of infrastructure; Windows, VM and Linux servers operations;
  • Lifecycle management techniques; security vulnerability practices; Cisco routers, switches, firewall and malware protection practices; technical analysis and design techniques; information system operations and support; various service and support tools; design techniques for information and operational support systems; security and information data backup strategies;
  • Skill in effective communication to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Skill in learning complex technical issues and acquiring technical knowledge; quickly learning and applying new technologies;
  • Working independently and as part of a team; using creative and innovative thinking to solve complex problems; analytical and problem solving capabilities; organizing multiple projects and timelines; demonstrating strong analytical capabilities

Major Accountabilities

1) Categorizes, isolates, and resolves complex system/network problems

2) Installs, modifies, implements, documents and maintains OS platforms/software, utilizing general knowledge of component interrelationships within existing systems platforms/software

3) Conducts daily traffic analysis, identifies and characterizes incidents, generates incident reports, and investigates/escalates suspicious network activity

4) Performs simple to moderately complex analysis of system performance

5) Directly implements and maintains severs and infrastructure ensuring scalability, performance and reliability

6) Directly completes troubleshooting of hardware and infrastructure related operations

7) Installs and rebuilds new infrastructure related servers in accordance with APS and project standards

8) Completes performance optimization, hardware upgrades and resources optimization

9) Configures central processing units (CPU), memory and disk partitions; Operates and maintain enterprise storage systems

10) Documents and tracks infrastructure problems and issues

11) Leads initiatives to develop solutions and processes to meet needs, and identifies unique innovative approaches and emerging technologies

12) May provide guidance and assistance to entry level infrastructure administrators

Home based: Home based employees primarily work from their home offices and come into an APS facility on an as-needed basis.

*Employees are expected to reside in Arizona (or New Mexico for Four Corners-based employees).

*Working from a home office requires adequate technology and an appropriate ergonomic set up.

*Role types are subject to change based on business need.

CIP Requirement:

This position requires Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) access consistent with North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) standards. The applicant considered for this role will be required to obtain and maintain CIP access for the duration of employment in this position. A full seven (7) year criminal history will be obtained through the pre-employment background check process (or, for current employees, through supplemental background check process) to fulfill the CIP access requirements. In addition, this position requires an additional background check every seven years to maintain access.
