Responsibilities

Forest View Hospital, located just seven miles southeast of downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan, is a private 108 bed psychiatric facility that serves children, adolescents and adults. We are licensed by the State of Michigan, fully accredited by The Joint Commission and we bring more than 45 years of experience to the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of behavioral health problems. As a part of our continued success and growth, we are seeking qualified applicants for an Outpatient (PHP) Supervisor.

The Outpatient (PHP) Supervisor is responsible to coordinate and oversee the day-to-day delivery of PHP outpatient clinical provisions; provides clinical leadership; and provides licensure required supervision to MA level clinical staff employed by Forest View Hospital, if able.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Carries a caseload of clients and/or group therapy as necessary, depending on staffing, census, and other considerations.
  • Caseload expectations will be consistent with the general job description of the department's outpatient clinicians.
  • Assigns patient cases daily and manages workload with staff in the department.
  • Schedules and coordinates staffing coverage, including illnesses, census fluctuations, and complex clinical issues. Provides assistance in staff coverage, as needed.
  • Supervises all clinical services staff members in completion of clinical documentation through chart audit process.
  • Will create and provide trainings in collaboration with the Director of Outpatient Services to improve staff's knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • If fully licensed, coordinates the supervision for MSW staff members who are in need of supervision hours. Also coordinates at least monthly clinical supervision and support for all case, with a focus on education, training, and department-level performance improvement, and program development.
  • Participates in the hiring and training of new PHP clinical services staff, as needed.
  • Assists in monitoring MSW credentialing and update the standards through NASW.
  • Coordinates and participates in a peer review system with inpatient clinicians to discuss step down from inpatient cases. When needed or requested, will assist in problem solving complex cases with outpatient clinicians.
  • Consults with and utilizes Director of Outpatient Services, as needed, for support in all areas, including providing feedback to the Director on department issues, needs, and plans.
  • Participates in hospital committees, as needed, and participates in business development plans through community involvement and marketing.
  • Develop meaningful relationships with staff that promote retention of staff.
  • Completes required on-line training as assigned and within the due dates; monitors team completion rates.
  • Coordinates changes in level of care as the point person (step- up to inpatient and PHP).
  • Oversees the role of step-down navigator and necessary documentation for admission to programs.
  • Assists with managing staff assignments regarding FTE management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Social Work with licensure from the State of Michigan (LMSW) preferred.
  • Two - four years of supervisory experience is preferred.
  • CPR Certification/Handle with Care Training.

Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:
