This is a full time position with day shifts to float between Scripps Clinic Jefferson in Oceanside and Scripps Clinic Rancho Bernardo. Shift is generally 8am and 5pm, Monday through Friday. Scripps ophthalmologists and optometrists provide comprehensive eye exams to diagnose and treat a full range of vision and eye problems, covering specialties such as Glaucoma, Retina, General Ophthalmology, Neuro Ophthalmology, Cornea, Oculoplastics and Optometry. The Ophthalmology/Optometry teams at Scripps Clinic Jefferson and Scripps Clinic Rancho Bernardo are a tight-knit, established and knowledgeable group of individuals who support each other in career development and training. The Ophthalmic Tech is responsible for: * Performing patient assessments and technical skills to accurately assess the ophthalmic status of each patient, including emergency procedures and medication administration as appropriate. * Educates patients and documents patient interactions. * Practices infection control * Contributes to the team as necessary to ensure quality patient care. * Additional responsibilities include: managing technician schedules, supply and medication ordering and inventory.
