Summary:

The Release of Information Specialist III role validates and processes requests for Protected Health Information in accordance with organizational policies, HIPAA, State and Federal regulations. This role serves as subject matter expert for Release of Information and trains new users.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare related discipline preferred. Successful completion of a formal medical terminology course required.
  2. License/Certifications: RHIT or RHIA preferred.
  3. Experience: Three years of experience in Release of Information in a health care setting required. Previous EPIC or EMR experience preferred. Demonstrates competency in all essential functions of a Release of Information Specialist II role.
