Torrance-Winder Job Title: US-Torrance-Winder Location: Torrance, CA Primary Objective This position will be responsible for winding transformer coils used in electrical equipment and instruments or as electronic components. Coils are built according to wiring diagrams, sample coil, or work order, using coil-winding machines and hand tools. Reviews diagrams and work order or examines sample coil to ascertain type and size of wire specified, and type, size, length, circumference, and primary and secondary windings of coil to be wound. Primary Responsibilities Wind standard coils for dry type transformers Perform welding and/or brazing to join bus bars to foil Utilize hook-up/hot work assembly tools to meet production demands Inspect product quality and installation to ensure conformance to production quality standards related to coil dimension, bus bar location, etc. Maintain a minimum of 80% of productivity time standards Interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics and blueprints Keep all work areas clean, organized and presentable Comply with all applicable U.S. export control and security regulations Other duties as assigned Basic Qualifications 1 year of manufacturing experience in corresponding Value Stream. This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee. Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship. No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate Beltsville area (50 miles) will be considered for this position. Preferred Skills High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution 3 or more years using soldering/brazing/welding experience OR a completed welding certificate from an accredited institution or equivalent high school trades course Previous Machine Operation experience |
