Compensation:

* Base Pay Range: $108,971 - $177,590 per year, based on experience

o Sign-On Bonus: $10,000

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION

Participate in regular rounds to patient care areas to assist with issues of medication usage.

Complete daily medication use evaluations for the patients on assigned team/area.

Provide appropriate patient specific medication recommendations that ensure safety, efficacy, and cost effectiveness.

Demonstrate ability to review and verify medication orders to assure appropriateness utilizing clinical information in the electronic medical record.

Prioritizes medication orders based on the acuity and order status (i.e. STAT, NOW, routine).

Assist in the education and training of pharmacy students, pharmacy technicians, and residents.

Initiate and assist in protocol development and implementation in specialty practice areas to optimize medication utilization to improve patient outcomes and cost-effectiveness.

Participate in multi-disciplinary committee meetings, research, drug utilization reviews, medication class reviews, formulary medication requests, staff education, presentations, and in-services as requested or needed by the department or hospital.

Serve as a resource for the pharmacy team, nursing, and prescribers for questions/issues related to pharmacotherapy; analyze literature to support usage and contact prescribers as needed.

May complete unit/department-specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents.

Pharmacist licensure by the Missouri Board of Pharmacy. Experience in hospital pharmacy or the completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 Residency.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY2 Residency program. Advanced certification such as BCACP, BCOP, BCPS, BCCCP, CSP, or BCPPS or other relevant pharmacy board certification from the Board of Pharmacy Specialties or Specialty Pharmacy Certification Board. Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
