We are looking for a Purchasing Manager. The primary focus of the Purchasing manager is the procurement of all materials (both direct and indirect), components and contracted services. All positions are responsible for contributing to a safe work place and minimizing negative impacts by complying with the EHS policies, procedures, work instructions outlined in the EHSMS Training Assessment for this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Collaborates with other departments and leadership to identify and develop needs and requirements for equipment, materials, products,assets including major fixed assetsand acceptable substitutions.
  • Coordinates withCorporate and local contract compliance including financial, quality and administrative terms and conditions and other contractual issues.
  • Conduct reviews of suppliers as necessary, using TVA database to record and report.
  • Conduct surveys of alternate or competitive sources of all supplies as necessary.
  • Coordinates removal or disposal of surplus materials.
  • Maintain, review, and update internal systems and recordkeeping systems as they relate to purchasing and interface with other company functions such as accounts payable, receiving, maintenance, and other areas.
  • Develop and maintain any direct reports to monitor the Purchasing function.
  • Responsible for managing the placements of inventoried and non-inventoried MRO supplies as well as indirect non-repetitive purchases. This also includes sub-contracted services.
  • Must have knowledge of shipping arrangements and documentation for domestic and international.



EDUCATION:Bachelors degree in related field required. Advanced degree and certification in the purchasing field are encouraged and beneficial.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:



  • Knowledge of standard purchasing procedures and practices.


  • Minimum of 4 years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must have previous experience or training on a personal computer and printer and utilize word processing and computer spreadsheets.
  • Ability to promote harmonious working relationships with internal staff as well as external supplier base.
  • Skilled in verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to develop systems and procedures to manage procurement function.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with the standards of QS, ISO, and other quality systems and programs.
