Battalion Chief of Logistics Pay: $80,000 (starting pay)
The Battalion Chief of Logistics provides operational oversight for day-to-day logistical functions for the Company, including those items pertaining to fleet, facilities and supply. The position manages Logistics personnel and their performance while providing service to our internal customers. They may provide supervision to other company personnel at times.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Conducts inspections, reviews reports, and investigates complaints to ensure compliance with Company policies, rules, and procedures.
Maintains clear, timely, and accurate communications between Management, administration staff and crew members so that support activities are coordinated and achieve company objectives.
Maintains a competent and motivated work force through work assignments, performance evaluation, counseling, training, and managing member performance improvement actions.
Identifies and assesses the nature of problems impacting the effectiveness of service delivery, such as the status and condition of equipment, methods and practices, utilization of staff, and takes corrective action in consultation with the Logistics Division Chief.
Maintains an adequate level of physical fitness to meet job requirements. Keeps abreast of new tactics, procedures, programs, and technologies in their respective areas of responsibility.

Minimum Required Qualifications
A functional, working knowledge of computers and software, to include Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, etc. Must be able to create documents with basic functionality.
Proven knowledge of local, state, and federal rules and regulations as applied to the fire and emergency service industry (NFPA, DOT, CVC, etc).
To perform this job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position:
Evaluating, planning, and managing the technical as well as the management aspects of logistics, to include fleet, facilities and supply. This includes research, presentation of information, procurement, tracking, and issuing. Be familiar with the routine repair and maintenance of vehicles and tools, including gasoline powered equipment.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell.
Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but is determined by the Logistics Division Chief. This position may include periodic remote work. This position may periodically require longer hours, and some weekends, based upon extenuating circumstances.
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
