Position Highlights The Center for the Philosophy of Freedom at the University of Arizona is seeking a dedicated Administrative Assistant to support its day-to-day operations and programs. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the Administrative Assistant will handle a variety of administrative tasks, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow within the Center. This role requires a motivated, proactive and detail-oriented individual capable of managing complex challenges with sound judgement, sensitivity and discretion. Strong communication skills are essential to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders and ensure accurate, timely information sharing.

The Freedom Center was founded in 2008 and is today a University Center in the Office for Research, Innovation & Impact. It provides research, teaching, and programming that is grounded in individual freedom and honors people's right to constructively disagree. Our faculty draw from philosophy, politics, economics, law, and ethics to enhance our understanding of the elements that shape individual and societal prosperity. Center scholars also include post-doctoral fellows, Ph.D. students in philosophy, and visiting and research fellows we host from universities worldwide. The Center's impact comes through research, publications, graduate education, academic programs, and major community events. Duties & Responsibilities

Duties & responsibilities

* Provide basic marketing and communications support by helping schedule and/or post on social media, manage changes to website and use graphic design software to facilitate production of materials for the center's brand awareness, social media and communications campaigns

* Serves as point of contact for inquiries, ensuring prompt and professional communication

* Familiarizes themselves with and facilitates any University forms that the Center must complete for events, and other requests

* Assists with preparing materials and logistics for Center programs and events; attends and participates in events as required.

* Performs administrative tasks, including managing individual and department calendars as assigned, scheduling meetings and coordinating events

* Manages office supplies, inventory and orders to ensure operational efficiency; order and maintains supplies for unit

* Reports and troubleshoots tech issues with Center IT support

* Provides administrative support to the visiting fellows program

* Additional duties may be assigned

* Excellent critical thinking skills

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency and 5 years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications

  • University of Arizona work experience
  • A keen eye for design aesthetics and creativity including experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva) is a plus
