Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Ultrasound Technologist Lead - NYU Langone Ambulatory Care - Garden City.

In this role, the successful candidate, under direction, operates ultrasound scanner and performs diagnostic procedures according to established standards and practices. Responsible for orienting and training new Ultrasound Technologist medical students fellows residents and nurse practitioners. Responsible for daily operations of the laboratory patient schedule equipment maintenance the report of equipment failures and quality assessment QA

Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Operates ultrasound equipment. Performs various ultrasound exams as indicated on requisition form according to American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) guidelines and according to department protocols.
  • Prepares and maintains exam rooms and ultrasound equipment for medical encounters. Assist in the care and maintenance of facilities, equipment and supplies.
  • Prepares patients using proper positioning and/or immobilizing patients and give them the proper instructions regarding the procedure.
  • Reviews, enters and maintains data in Ultrasound reporting system.
  • Coordinates student ultrasound tech assignments, training and orientation. Assists in completing the renewal application for departmental accreditation with the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM).
  • Schedules Sonographers for main site and off site locations.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Technical Diploma Graduate from an accredited approved Ultrasound program Required Current and valid Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer RDMS from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers ARDMS Required 3-5 Years Experience in Ultrasound Required Strong communication both written and oral strong analytical problem solving and customer service skills Required Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office and vision Chips Required Thorough knowledge of ultrasound scanners Required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor s Degree In a related field Preferred

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $111,011.68 - $122,247.68 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
