Description

The Warehouse Manager is accountable for the effective supervision of skilled employees and processes related to shipping and receiving in the dry and cold storage warehouses.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Demonstrates and maintains the use of an effective High Liner Operating System (HOS) while meeting customer requirements.
  • Effective coaching and training for all hourly reports
  • Sets expectations and maintains processes that meet performance targets
  • Ensure the daily/ weekly warehouse schedule for areas of responsibility meets customer needs and is cost effective.
  • Responsible to ensure the safe keeping of inventory by establishing & monitoring shop floor processes that minimize damage product, ensures the rotation of inventory is following FIFO and inventory accuracy is maintained.
  • Investigate and put corrective actions in place on any issues related to inventory adjustments
  • Ensure that proper CTPAT and food security practices are being followed.
  • Carry out a monthly safety inspection of the cold storage warehouse with an hourly employee and take corrective action as required
  • Ensure safe working conditions and safe work practices are being followed by employees.
  • Ensure HLF policy and procedures are being followed
  • Support company strategic goals by directing the crew and implementing changes and improvements.



Qualifications:



  • Post secondary education is an asset.
  • 3-5 years of warehouse coaching experience is an asset
  • Excellent communication, organizational and leadership skills
  • Computer systems: JD Edwards & or Enterprise 1, Lotus Notes, Microsoft Office Suite, Reports Now
  • Familiarity with an Advanced Warehouse Management System is an asset
  • Ability to establish & meet productivity targets and report on results
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team player
  • Flexible shift hours or rotating shifts as operational needs require.



Working Conditions:

Office Environment: The noise level in the office work environment is moderately quiet. Plant Environment: The plant work environment will expose the employee to loud noise, food grade dust & odors, moving & vibrating machinery, heavy equipment, powered industrial trucks, heights, traffic, anhydrous ammonia, oil and electricity. The employee may be exposed to adverse weather conditions including extreme cold, heat, rain, snow, dust, smoke and odors.

Physical Requirements/Allergens:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, sit, talk, listen, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to use hands to handle, operate, and feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to operate a motor vehicle to travel to off-site meetings. The employee must have visual acuity sufficient to operate a motor vehicle and digital camera, as well as other office and position equipment. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Employees must be able to hear and speak clearly in order to communicate with clients, coworkers, employees and vendors.
