About the Department |
The soil management is a new extension and research program in the Department of Crop and Soil Sciences at North Carolina State University. The program is located at Vernon G James Center, Tidewater Research Station, Plymouth, NC. The primary focus is soil health, soil organic matter, and saltwater intrusion-related issues. Soil impacts and spatial technologies for major field crops are within the scope of this program. As cropping systems change, new spatial technologies will require applied research and extension to ensure the best soil management and fertilizer recommendations for optimal yields and economic return while safeguarding soil health and soil organic matter.
