Overview

Waters Corporation is always looking to hire outstanding future talent for our company. The IT Infrastructure & Operations team is looking to hire a summer intern out of our Milford office. This internship is a phenomenal opportunity to gain real-world experience while working at the world's leading specialty measurement company. This internship will last approximately ten weeks and the program will commence in the spring/summer of 2025.

Responsibilities

    Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for applying generative AI and ML solutions to business challenges.
  • Design, train, and deploy machine learning models using frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face or similar libraries.
  • Work with large datasets to clean, preprocess, and analyze data for AI model development.
  • Develop proof-of-concept applications leveraging generative AI, such as chatbots, content generation tools, and recommendation engines.
  • Curate and document best practices, reference architectures, and reusable AI components.
  • Stay updated on advancements in AI/ML technologies and communicate findings to the team.
  • Contribute to discussions around ethical AI practices and ensure compliance with AI governance guidelines.
  • Present project findings and solutions to cross-functional teams and leadership.


Qualifications

  • 2+ years of academic or professional experience in computer science, data science, artificial intelligence, or a related field.
  • Actively pursuing a graduate degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related discipline.
  • Foundational knowledge of machine learning algorithms and concepts.
  • Experience working with Python, R, or Java for data analysis and AI/ML model development.
  • Familiarity with generative AI models like GPT, DALL*E, or diffusion models.
  • Strong understanding of data engineering concepts, including ETL pipelines and data storage solutions.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for AI/ML services.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a focus on innovation and creativity.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a team setting.
  • Familiarity with tools like Jira, Confluence, GitHub, and Datadog is a plus.
