The Corporate Chef will act as an integral part of the Product Development team and cross functionally as a culinary resource to the organization at large. Focused on delivering unique and inspiring culinary experiences, the Corporate Chef will divide their time between supporting both the retail and foodservice channels. This role will spend a substantial amount of their time collaborating on product research and development activities, while also strategically supporting the organization through direct sales, marketing and educational initiatives. This role will often act as the face of the organization by frequently interacting directly with our customers, as well as representing culinary and seafood excellence to virtual and in person audiences. This role must display a strong customer service and teamwork focus, along with the ability to motivate and "think on their feet."

Essential Duties and responsibilities

* Develops relevant culinary focused content and resources grounded in segment specific trends including recipes, white sheet ideations and POS resources.

* Oversees the day-to-day operations of the culinary kitchen and product development lab, managing workflows, scheduling, and prioritization of tasks while upholding a culture of professionalism. Ensure facilities are meticulously maintained with a focus on cleanliness, proper equipment functionality, and adherence to food safety standards to support seamless culinary innovation and product development.

* Provides culinary leadership and expertise at major customer engagements including sales focused customer engagements and national food and industry trade shows.

* Provides cross collaborative support for new product launches including focused content like inspired recipes and chef tips.

* Executes internal and external product and competitive cuttings.

* Delivers targeted culinary content and inspiration for both the Retail & Food Service segments, including maintaining of a robust recipe database, various digital media resources and staged live presentations.

* Assists the retail and food service sales teams in growing strategic customer relationships through unique culinary leadership.

* Leads and actively participates in internal photo shoots, including ideation of customer\segment focused concepts, logistical planning and delivery of timely content.

* Functions as a culinary leader and product expert supporting both internal employee educational programs as well as externally providing industry relevance to HLF's product portfolio, value proposition and seafood at large.

* Participates in the ongoing development of an innovation pipeline through collaborating with product development teammates in the creation of gold standard prototypes and consumer validated and commercialized products.

Qualifications

* Chef qualifications from an accredited school or equivalent industry experience.

* A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in progressive culinary focused roles.

* Demonstrated initiative and highly motivated with strong organization skills and the ability to work both independently and as a part of a highly functional team.

* Excellent communication skills both oral and written as well as strong creative and presentation skills are required.

* Computer knowledge & ability in using software such as Outlook, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel are required. Experience with web site technology would be an asset.

* Food photography and video production experience and skills would be an asset.

Travel

* Travel up to 40% of time required based on business & training needs. North American Travel to HLF locations, Customer office, Trade Shows, etc.

* Holding and maintaining Drivers License and Passport required
