JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Chancellor's Office at Penn State Berks is seeking a highly motivated Sponsorship and Community Engagement Coordinator.

This is a part-time opening for up to 20 hours per week and will occasionally include some evening and weekend hours. Applicants must be available to work in-person during Chancellor's Office hours (Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.), though the working hours are flexible within that timeframe. This opening is funded for two years with an excellent possibility of continued funding for subsequent periods.

Job Duties
  • Support the Chancellor's Office at Penn State Berks through the coordination and management of external sponsorships.

  • Work with the Chancellor's Office staff to develop an overall plan and calendar for memberships and sponsored events.

  • Develop working relationships with community partners, serving as the Penn State Berks' point of contact for co-sponsors and other external organizations, ensuring timely and professional correspondence.

  • Collaborate with other departments within the college (Development, Strategic Communications), serving as a liaison for the Chancellor's Office on sponsorships and off-campus community engagement matters.

  • Coordinate logistics for sponsored events (fundraisers, dinners, festivals, etc.), organizing attendance, supplies, equipment, and promotional materials as necessary.

  • Attend sponsored events on behalf of Penn State Berks, serving as a positive and enthusiastic representative of the college.

  • Process sponsorship/membership invoices in SIMBA.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Chancellor of Penn State Berks.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Requires a high school diploma or higher, plus 2+ years of related experience.

  • The successful candidate will be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential to success in this role.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are vital, as is the ability to handle with discretion the sensitive information of a confidential working environment.

  • The successful candidate will have the ability to work collaboratively with team members and to manage tasks independently.

  • Bilingual Spanish-speaking preferred.
