Position Summary
The Stroke Clinical Data Abstractor plays a critical role in advancing the quality of care delivered to stroke patients. This position is responsible for the meticulous review and detailed abstraction of data for the GWTG-Stroke Registry, enabling stroke teams to measure and enhance care outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform concurrent and retrospective abstraction of data from the electronic medical record (EMR), with a focus on Epic, to ensure accuracy and completeness for the GWTG-Stroke Registry.
• Monitor and trend performance on Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center metrics to support quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintain high standards of quality and productivity in data abstraction, adhering to deadlines and working efficiently under time constraints.
• Collaborate with the stroke program team to identify trends and opportunities for improvement in stroke care delivery.
• Participate in team efforts to achieve and maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
• Contribute to concurrent data abstraction processes to ensure real-time insights are available to the stroke care team.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, preferably in nursing
• One (1) years of experience in data management and clinical data abstraction
• Proficient in spreadsheet and database software
