Responsibilities

Support multiple Psychiatrists and Advanced Nurse Practitioners in the Psychiatry Department on completion of administrative tasks within an outpatient behavioral health setting.

The position is located onsite at St. Louis Behavioral Medicine Institute's (SLBMI) Macklind location (conveniently located by I-64/I-44, across from Forest Park). Job tasks are primarily completed through electronic means (phone, email, drives system, electronic medical record, fax) and are supportive for psychiatrists and nurse practitioners who are seeing patients for medication management.

This position is an administrative support / back office role. It does not involve face-to-face clinical patient care.

Job tasks include (but not limited to):

  • patient correspondence (email, phone, fax),
  • retrieval and file of patient information (patient charts, patient lab work),
  • management of psychiatry schedules and wait lists (returning patient scheduling),
  • management of prescription refill requests (as directed by psychiatrist), and
  • management of new and existing patient paperwork related to psychiatry.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent Required

Candidates must be a Team player, have strong communication skills, customer-oriented and ability to problem solve in the moment concerns and troubleshooting that may arise.

As services are performed largely telehealth, candidates are required to be skilled at navigating and learning technology.

Candidate must be proficient at patient correspondence (including completion of FMLA paperwork and letters to patients) and medication refill request management.

Ability to relay basic medical feedback and communicate psychiatrist instructions to patients as needed.

Administrative and medical background required.

Experience specifically within behavioral health environment preferred.
