The SEI Technology - Site Reliability Engineering organization has a challenging career opportunity for a Principal Cloud Architect. This position requires a foundation of software development and infrastructure knowledge, the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment, and desire to expand existing skills through technical project work.

You should be adaptable, possess a wide range of technical skills, and demonstrate the ability to understand financial services business requirements and translate into reliable and scalable solutions in order to build and deploy SEI's Cloud Native technology infrastructure and applications. You should be able to design scalable systems, deliver individual code as well as technically lead a team of engineers; and have the ability to switch context quickly and work efficiently with project managers, cloud engineers, application developers, technical operations and other personnel.

What you will do:

  • Design and build SEI's next generation of Infrastructure and Platforms (as Code) on the public cloud using a combination of open source and internally developed tools
  • Work hand-in-hand with other Technical Leads to help drive best practices and deliver multitenant distributed systems at scale on the public cloud following industry best practices.
  • Lead the design and implementation of resilient, scalable, performant, secure, and cost-effective cloud architectures
  • Provide Architectural and Technical leadership to project team members.
  • Analyze and resolve issues found during the testing or pre-production phases of the software delivery lifecycle
  • Analyze and optimize existing cloud infrastructure for performance, reliability, scale, and cost-efficiency. Implement monitoring, alerting, and auto-remediation strategies.
  • Responsible for ensuring team designs and delivers code in alignment with published SEI & industry standards.
  • Provide technical problem resolution and application support, as required

What we need from you:

  • BA/BS, in a related technical field; or the equivalent in education and work experience
  • A minimum of 10 years of prior work experience with a combination of Linux Systems Administration, DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Systems Engineering, Development, Solution Architecture or related work
  • A minimum of 3 years of prior work experience acting as a Technical Lead or Technical Architect
  • Demonstratable experience at building relationships with engineering teams and leading teams through architectural changes from inception to production implementation
  • Strong working experience with at least one cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure, OCI)
  • Knowledge of both cloud design principles as well as demonstratable hands on experience is expected.
  • Experience with Security tooling and industry best practices using tools like Wiz, Crowdstrike, Nessus, PrismaCloud, etc
  • Strong knowledge of systems design and foundation in Linux, Networking, Kubernetes
  • Experience writing internal applications, scripts, and tools using various scripting or programming languages (Bash, Python, Go, Java, Terraform, Ansible, etc)
  • Demonstrated ability to create system architecture diagrams and documentation for review by both technical and non-technical audiences.
