Position Description
Performs varied and complex administrative duties in the management and coordination of a large specialized project and/or program. Requires independent judgment and application of established policies and procedures. Works under general supervision with evaluation based on overall results obtained.

Major/Essential Functions
  • This individual is responsible for oversight, development and implementation of policies and procedures related to the special programs of the School of Medicine and address issues with consistency across all programming
  • Focus on innovation and evolution in all programs
  • Act as the point person for all program questions and liaison for programs stakeholders
  • Oversees the development while keeping consistency of future programs and external collaborations
  • Counsels and advises students concerning course requirements for application to medical school regarding the application process, components of a competitive application, and unique features of special programs of TTUHSC School of Medicine
  • Develop and deliver effective presentations regarding medical school admissions and the unique aspects of programs for the TTUHSC School of Medicine to prospective students, parents, counselors and advisors
  • Develop, plan, coordinate, schedule, and implement the Joint Admissions Medical Program (JAMP) summer internship
  • Work with the Associate Director of Enrollment and Finance to provide budgetary oversight and fiscal monitoring of programmatic funds, ensures expenditures are compliant for all JAMP initiatives
  • Prepares and submits activity reports, as requested (annual evaluation reports and program proposals with statistics), for all JAMP initiatives
  • Monitors all programs and outreach activities and works with appropriate departments and stakeholders to ensure they meet and exceed program guidelines (UMSI, EAP, M2M, EDME, PEP, SEP)
  • Works collaboratively with the Assistant Director of Recruitment and Advising regarding the strategic goals for all programs and activities toward a successful overall recruitment goal for K-12 students and undergraduates
  • Works collaboratively and assists the Admissions staff with the preparation of the School of Medicine applicant interviews and application cycle.
  • Works under the supervision of the Director to identify qualified applicants to be evaluated within the application management software and independently serves as an admissions evaluation committee member
  • Function as primary back-up for Assistant Director of Recruitment and Advising and cross-train to preform duties as needed
  • Submit an overall recruitment plan and report log annually for Outreach and Programs to be reviewed and utilized for the annual WEAVE strategic assignment compliance and accreditation
  • Reports to the Director of Admissions, internally, who oversees the overall recruitment, programs and outreach activities
  • Development and implementation of effective enrollment strategies to deliver desired outcomes and results for the School of Medicine

  • Able to cross train and able to provide support based on personnel availability or as a response to the dynamic changes of the office


Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in the area of specialization or closely related field. Three years of related administrative and technical experience. Additional job related education may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
