Printpack, a leading manufacturer of flexible packaging, is seeking a qualified candidate to fill one (1) position for Digital Plant Technician at our Villa Rica, GA Campus. This position will report to the Digital Plant Supervisor.

This Individual Must Model the Printpack Core Values of: Treating People Right, Caring About What We Do, Being Focused on How We Achieve Results, and Doing What We Say We Will Do.

Primarily Night Shift (Mon-Thurs, 10 hour shift) but must be available to work flexible shifts and overtime as needed to accommodate customer demands.

Starting Pay: $22.83-$34.26/hour (pay based on relevant experience) + $2.50 Night Shift Premium

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Must have High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent

  • Must be able to read and follow directions in English

  • Ability to work any schedule including 8-hour, 10-hour, or 12- hour rotating shift, which may include nights and weekends

  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot problems

  • Ability to follow directions clearly, work well independently, multi-task, and work well in a team environment

  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills

  • Prior basic computer experience or aptitude needed

  • Mechanical aptitude and skills to perform technical adjustment and maintenance of the digital plant equipment

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Experience in operating mechanical / electromechanical equipment

  • Background and experience with customer mock-ups/packaging prototyping and assembly

  • Prior printing and production manufacturing experience

  • Prior adhesive lamination experience

  • Additional courses in Print Production or Operations and other similar functional areas

  • Relevant courses such as chemistry, electronics, color theory and physics

  • Background and experience in conventional offset press operation, process color printing, or digital press print production operations

  • Understanding the basic concept of prepress

  • One to three years forklift experience

INTERNAL APPLICANTS

  • Last performance review rated "Performer" or higher

  • No disciplinary actions beyond verbal within the past 120 days

  • May not be on Performance Improvement Plan (PIP)

  • Must be in current position a minimum of 120 days

  • Must be in non-probationary status

COMPETENCIES -

  • Must have competencies/skills in all areas of teamwork, flexibility, stress tolerance, integrity, initiative, problem solving, cross functional awareness, drive, detail-oriented, and concern for excellence

  • Analytical approach to problem solving - Procedure-oriented and methodical individual

  • Must maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area

  • Ability to conduct tests and inspections to evaluate quality and performance

  • Strong concern for excellence related to print quality, ability to match and detect differences between colors including shades of color and brightness

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS -

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds

  • Must be able to climb, kneel, bend, squat, grasp, push, pull and have fine motor skills

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time

  • Understands and utilizes common hand tools, including tape measure, good manual dexterity

  • Must be able to successfully pass FarnsworthMunsell 100 Hue Test

  • Good visual discrimination
