Job Summary

The Development Associate provides essential support for 92NY's development department. Reporting to the Director of Donor Relations and Membership, the Development Associate will assist with various development events throughout the year, event research, correspondence, donor benefit fulfillment and ticketing, inquiries, and mailings.



Job Responsibilities Include

Events support:

    Provide support for various fundraising, stewardship, and cultivation events, including correspondence, report generation and day-of administration and greeting.
  • Assist with event administration and reporting including generating lists and reports, tracking RSVPs, solicitation mailings, and keeping invitee/donor records up to date.
  • Manage a portion of logistical planning for events including registration, building reservations, set-ups and breakdowns for in-person and virtual programs.
  • In advance of events, assist as needed with providing confidential research profiles producing biographical, financial, and philanthropic information.
  • Submit event expense reports and vendor invoices for payment.

Donor Relations support:

  • Assist in benefit fulfillment and ticketing services for donors, including tracking and fulfilling requests, and producing ticketing reports.
  • Prepare and assemble mailings and email correspondence as needed, including event invitations and donor relations mailings.
  • Provide impeccable customer service to 92NY supporters of all levels, including answering phone and email inquiries.
  • Perform other related duties as requested or assigned.


Experience, Education, & Skills Desired

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 1-2 years working within development / fundraising required.
  • Strong project management and administration skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and diplomacy skills required to deal with the public, including major and high-profile donors as well as internal colleagues.
  • Detail-oriented with strong writing, editing, proofreading and analytical skills.
  • Must work well under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines.
  • Proven high-level of expertise in using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Outlook and Word.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and execute responsibilities in the face of conflicting priorities or unexpected situations.
  • Experience in Tessitura or other CRM database strongly preferred.
  • Experience with research tools such as iWAVE, WealthEngine, LexisNexis, RelSci, Foundation Directory and others, preferred but not required.


Work Environment & Requirements

40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm with a one-hour unpaid lunch break. Some flexibility to work evening and weekend events will be required.

This position is currently approved to utilize a hybrid working environment which is subject to change in the future.

Compensation Range

$55,000 - $65,000

The actual compensation offered will be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, and certifications or other professional licenses held.
