Role Snapshot

Our HR Service Center Specialist is part of a centralized HR team of operational subject matter experts supporting the focus areas within the Human Resources and WPS employees. In addition, this shared services team acts as the point of contact for HR related inquiries from employees and leaders within the organization. This role provides the opportunity to own support, tracking, and other HR operational tasks while driving process improvements. This role ensures data integrity, and building documentation and resources to support knowledge sharing and collaboration.

Hourly Pay rate



  • $20.00 to $23.00 / hour

Wisconsin Remote -
Onsite work will be tailored for team cohesion, strategy, planning and collaboration.
Our office location: WPS Corporate Center Building - 1717 W. Broadway in Madison, WI.

Operational Tasks



  • Review and conduct data entry procedures (i.e., direct data entry or creation of file uploads) to facilitate input of employment information into the Human Capital Management (HCM) system.
  • Partner to validate accuracy of employee data and employment transactions prior to loading into our HR systems.
  • Coordinate interview scheduling between candidates and hiring managers.
  • Support employee onboarding activities to include initiation and monitoring of background screenings, creation of hire records in the HCM, and processing of E-Verify authorizations.
  • Act as an HR operational process SME providing guidance and training to HR colleagues and organizational leadership to drive efficiency and knowledge sharing.


HR Inquiries



  • Monitor and address general inquiries and information requests from external vendors, active and former employees, and cross functional departments received through shared Outlook accounts and ServiceNow.
  • Assess and escalate complex inquiries and informational requests requiring subject matter expertise found in other HR focus areas or cross functional departments.


Process Efficiency and Effectiveness



  • Proactively and continuously assess existing HR procedures across the HR function, along with assigned tasks, to recognize opportunities to drive efficiency and implement automation.
  • Assist in the identification, development and maintenance of HR operational process documentation, knowledge sharing resources, and education efforts.
  • Participate as an operational subject matter expert in cross team projects to evaluate and transform existing HR practices or brainstorm and launch new procedures.

Minimum Qualifications



  • High School Diploma or equivalency.
  • 1 or more years human resource coordinator or other related work experience.
  • Basic understanding of human resources policies and procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Drive and passion around innovation and creative problem-solving.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent post high school and/or related work experience.
  • Previous experience within an HR Shared Services/Call Center environment.
  • Prior exposure to UKG Pro, ServiceNow, or similar platforms.
