Responsibilities

Suncoast Behavioral Health Center opened its doors in 2014 and provides the highest quality of behavioral healthcare for patients in a safe, secure and nurturing environment. Suncoast Behavioral Health Center offers a unique treatment programs across inpatient, partial and intensive outpatient settings for children and adolescents.

In a highly specialized field of psychiatry, our goal is to promote cognitive, social, physical and emotional development to provide individuals with the knowledge and skills to help our patients succeed.

The Hospital is looking for a Milieu Manager. In this position you will be responsible to provide program oversight, accountability and supervision to direct care staff. Works in collaboration with the CEO, COO, DON and Director of Clinical Services to ensure consistency and continuity of care is provided by the direct-care staff. Implements programming and provides ongoing training and supervision to create and maintain a safe and therapeutic milieu. Coordinates and assigns direct care staff to the units while facilitating accurate communication among flex pool staff. Assists with daily time and attendance. Supervisory functions include but are not limited to: ensuring the program schedule is being followed at all times, assignment of unit tasks, ensuring hospital policies are enforced and upheld. Assists with ensuring on the job training is being provided accurately for newly hired MHTs.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent. Bachelor's Degree in psychology or related field preferred.
  • At least five years of experience working with children and adolescents in the mental health field. Prefer experience in a psychiatric hospital setting as a Mental Health Tech, Supervisor, Unit Manager working with children and/or adolescents. Must possess knowledge of therapeutic relationships, as relates to adolescents, therapeutic processes, growth and development of adolescents, limit setting, behavior management and crisis management of aggressive behaviors.
  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Verification of absence of criminal record on local, state and federal levels. Must be able to maintain composure under stressful situations while upholding facility mission and vision. Knowledge of scheduling and FTE management.
  • Physical Demands - Extensive walking, standing, sitting, must be able to lift over fifty (50 lbs.) pounds. Must be to participate in the physical restraint and seclusion of patients. Must be able to participate in and complete Handle with Care Training on an annual basis.
