Job Overview:

The Maintenance Mechanic assists skilled trades in the performance of plumbing, electrical, HVAC and structural maintenance/repair. Independently performs preventive maintenance such as replacing filters, belts and motors. Independently paints walls, repairs cabinet hinges, installs wall fixtures and assemblies furniture. Independently clears clogged drains using plungers/drain snakes, rebuilds Sloan valves and removes/replaces threaded plumbing fixtures. Performs other maintenance related tasks such as moving equipment, furniture and supplies.Routinely performs security functions of patrolling hallways, initiating incident reports and restraining unstable patients. This position also provides coverage for Security and Patient Sitters. Must have a Florida Class "D" Security License and IAHSS certification.

General Responsibilities:

  • Performs other maintenance related tasks such as moving equipment, furniture and supplies.
  • Routinely performs security functions of patrolling hallways, initiating incident reports and restraining unstable patients.
  • Provides coverage for Security and Patient Sitters. Must have a Florida Class "D" Security License and IAHSS certification.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills, basic computer skills and customer service skills required

Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • 1 year maintenance related work experience.
  • Graduation from high school level trade school is acceptable alternative to 1 year experience.

  • Drivers license, Florida Class D Security License required.

  • IAHSS certification required within 90 days.
  • Other duties as assigned.
