Orthopaedic Traumatology The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, is recruiting a full-time faculty member at the Assistant/Associate Professor level in the subspecialty of orthopaedic traumatology. The qualified physician will be actively involved in the management of Orthopaedic Trauma at UPMC. Responsibilities include clinical activities and teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. One of the nation's top orthopaedic programs, the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery offers a wide range of specialty services, uses innovative techniques, and conducts vital research. From general orthopaedics and sports medicine to knee disorders, hip conditions, and joint reconstruction, we offer treatments for the simple to the most complex orthopaedic conditions. Our nationally-recognized experts focus on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries for both adults and children. Qualified physician applicants should have a significant interest and ability in clinical care and teaching. As part of an academic faculty, dedication to teaching medical students, residents, and fellows will be required. Candidates should possess strong clinical, interpersonal, analytical, and writing skills, as well as a history of scholarly publications and presentations, and evidence of interest in and involvement in research. Academic rank [Assistant (0-5 years of experience) / Associate (6-9 years of experience)] is commensurate with prior academic achievements and experience.
